Steamed Angelica Chicken

Found another easy to make dish during confinement.


  • 1 chicken thigh
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 3/4 tsp sugar
  • 2-3 thin slices of Dong Guai (Angelica Sinensis)
  • 1 1/2 Tbs Gei Zi (Wolfberries)
  • 60ml cup water
  • 1 tsp cooking oil (for oiling plate)


  1. Marinate chicken with salt and sugar for 10 minutes
  2. Oil a plate (for steaming) and transfer marinated chicken onto the plate, spread out evenly
  3. Break up Dong Guai and sprinkle onto the chicken. Add Gei Zi too
  4. Pour water onto the chicken and steam on high heat for 10-15 minutes
  5. Serve with steamed rice
